Germán Ignacio Andrade is a biologist trained at Universidad de los Andes, with a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies from Yale University. He previously worked as an associate professor at the School of Management at Universidad de los Andes and as a visiting professor at ESAN (Peru), Yale (USA), and Roskilde (Denmark). He is the former director of Fundación Natura and also served as deputy director of the Humboldt Institute. He is a national and international consultant on biodiversity conservation, ecosystem services, management of protected areas, and ecological land management. Germán is also Editor of the National Biodiversity Status Report and Member of the Multidisciplinary Panel of Experts MEP of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES). He currently serves as director of the Territorial Sustainability Laboratory at EAN University in Bogotá.
